Melasma

Melasma is a hormone-sensitive pigment that appears as brown patches on the cheeks, forehead or upper lip. It worsens with heat and strong lasers, so Val:U Clinic treats it with gentle, low-energy toning such as PicoSure and dual toning, together with strict sun protection. Toning starts from KRW 120,000.

Our approach

Diagnosis first

The same-looking problem can have different causes, so a doctor examines your skin before recommending anything. Most people get the best result from a combination, planned around the time you have in Seoul.

Melasma FAQ

Can melasma be cured?

Melasma can be controlled and lightened significantly, but it can return. Maintenance toning and sunscreen keep it under control.

Why not use a strong laser?

Strong heat can make melasma darker. Low-energy toning over several sessions is safer.
